We proudly serve local products, including:
To start the morning, we roast the coffee beans first thing and grind them in the kitchen, using our 1920 wall-mounted hand grinder. Coffee is already brewed when the first guest arrives in the kitchen and there is also a variety of herbal and black teas and local wildflower honey. We serve fresh cream, half & half, and milk from our local Battenkill Valley Creamery, and we have almond milk for non-dairy folks. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences.
Breakfast includes our own fresh organic eggs. Many people like our scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, spinach, and onions and oat-nut toast with butter and jam. We make scrumptious French toast served with locally produced maple syrup for its dark color and rich flavor. In addition, our guests enjoy breakfast sausage, thick cut bacon, and orange juice. We also offer Back Roads organic gluten free granola with fresh local yogurt and fruit, such as berries, apples, and bananas. We can cook up McCann's steel-cut Irish oatmeal on request.
"Grind your coffee every day? I wouldn't, if I knew my grocer and could be sure (and you can't) that the coffee is roasted fresh each day. For, of course, you know it's the roast, not the grind, that determines the freshness of the coffee."
